With 19 bids to host the European Medicines Agency (EMA), the Agency has published it comments on these bids in an aim to clarify the isolated pieces of information circulating in the press.
The EMA felt it key to evaluate the bids based on a number of criteria, including:
- Technical assessment on the proposed building including facilities, layout and relocation plans
- Accessibility of location
- Adequate education facilities
- Access to labour market
- Medical care and
- Business continuity
The criteria were evaluated and scored according to the EMA’s criteria.
The EMA also looked at the availability of flights at all airports identified in the International Air Transport Association (IATA) classification list linked to the candidates host city. The more detailed evaluation of each proposed building and location is covered in Annex A1 and B1 on the EMA website (link below).
Ensuring that the Agency will be fully operational during and after its relocation is key and by publishing this information they hope it will be useful for Member States when the new host city is decided.
